Glossary

What is a frequency?

A frequency is one of the many channels provided in telecommunication devices.

What is 'RTO'?

Radio Traffic Only is a rule often given to emergency frequencies, meaning that users can only transmit in a professional, mannered format.

What is a ten-code?

A ten-code (usually typed as '10-code') is an abbreviation of a useful word commonly used throughout frequency communication to save time and get to the point quickly. For every common word/phrase used in frequency communication, there is a ten-code. There is a list of them all below for you to get to know them.

Frequency Regulations

Whilst a user is in one of our available frequencies, they must follow a certain set of regulations to ensure matters do not fall out of hand.

  1. Always refer transmissions to an online dispatcher if applicable

  2. Always state your callsign before transmitting

  3. Do not activate your microphone unless you are transmitting

  4. Always follow provided formats and mention only necessary subjects
